Merley Court Holiday Park

We have just got back from a lovey impromptu stay at Merley Court Holiday Park. It is part of the Shorefield group of sites. Merley court – Shorefields

We had finished school and gone on holiday the following day for he last four years. This year our family holiday isn’t until later in the summer so I had been looking at a holiday for the two of us. The weather in England was set to be lovey so I decided on an impromptu camping trip. We have a tent that we have owned all of our adult life and I thought it would be good to get a bigger one but I couldn’t commit to one – the one I liked was £500 and I am hoping it will go into the sale.

We set off on the 300 mile trip and sang our way down south. We talked a lot and it was lovely to get such along time together without any distractions.

As I put on Instagram I was a bit worried about my ability to put the tent up as normally 🧔🏻 does that whilst I sort out the dog. I did have him on FaceTime to help as well as some good instructions. We got the tent up and went straight out as you can use the pool at a local Shorefields pool.

I wanted to show 👧🏻 the places we went to as children. We spent all of our summers at Merley Court until my parents purchased a static caravan at Shorefields and some trips to Spain. Our weekend and trips to the beach were at Sandbanks and Swanage. I have not been back for over two decades.

The park was impeccably maintained. We paid £70 for three nights which was half the price of a hotel I had looked at somewhere else. The toilets were regularly cleaned and generally the site was quiet. There is a shop selling basics at a reasonable price and a bar which we didn’t go into. It felt really safe and despite my Nan being concerned we didn’t have a padlock for the tent we were fine.

There are a whole host of places to visit nearby and Sandbanks and Poole Park were our favourites. We will defiantly be back. Hopefully in a bigger tent!!
