2018 looking back at our travel

I thought it would be nice to have a little review of the travels from last year. We are really lucky that I get 13 weeks holiday a year so each school holiday we head off for an adventure somewhere. Here is what we got up to in 2018.

We started the year in Edinburgh where we spent new year. Edinburgh is a city that we love and have a trip booked in already for 2019.

Over the year we had lots of visits to Whitby.  As a family we all love the East Coast and are so lucky that we can get there really easily.

We stayed in a lovely cottage in Dumfries for February half term. We were really lucky that it snowed about five minutes after we arrived. 👧🏻 took a friend and they really enjoyed lots of snowman building. I crocheted and made hot chocolates. Poppy was in her element.  This was a really special holiday and I really hope that we can go back sometime.

Me and 👧🏻 went away for Easter. Just the two of us for a week in Tenerife. It was great to explore and spend a week together without the distractions of home. We had had a couple of holidays together before this one without 🙎🏻‍♂️ as he had to work but until Tenerife it had been to somewhere I was already familiar with. This was new to both of us. 👧🏻 enjoyed playing at the park and I enjoyed coffee.

🙎🏻‍♂️ and I then went away together without 👧🏻 and enjoyed a weekend in Holmfirth. We saw a band and enjoyed a walk and a picnic.

We had another couple of trips to Edinburgh.

Then in July we went on a family Holiday back to Tenerife. We explored a little more and enjoyed he sunshine.

Just as the summer holidays we’re coming to an end 👧🏻 and I enjoyed another week away just the two of us. We went to Lindos and spent a week swimming, eating and sleeping.

At the beginning of October we had a weekend in Spain.

For October half term we went to Portugal. Another girls holiday. This time 👧🏻 and my mum.

Whilst in Portugal we squeezed in a day trip to Saville.

Finally we all went to Chamonix for 🙎🏻‍♂️birthday and new year.

It was quite a year for travelling. Until I wrote this I had not realised 👧🏻 and I had had three separate holidays without 👧🏻. I think he enjoys the quiet whilst we are gone!!

Now to get planning 2019. So far we have Edinburgh, Bruges and Portugal planned.
